 SM Foundation College Scholarship Program for SY 2023-2024



Henry Sy, Sr., the founder of SM, believes that education is the best defense against poverty. To assist youth in achieving their goals, they established the SM College Scholarships to provide college and technical-vocational scholarship grants, as well as access to primary education through school buildings. The SMFI College Scholarship program is designed to assist low-income but deserving high school students in obtaining a college education and establishing a better future for themselves and their families.


The SM Foundation’s vision is to create the Philippines where everyone has the opportunity for self-improvement and the environment is preserved for future generations, while its mission is to make targeted social investments in education, health care, livelihood, and shelter to assist under-served Filipinos in improving their lives; and we will promote initiatives to protect and enhance the Philippines’ unique and diverse ecological heritage.


What are the qualifications?

  • A Grade 12 graduating student from public and private schools in the areas covered. Applicants from private schools must have a DepEd voucher and must be Grade 10 finishers from public high schools.
  • Has a general weighted average grade of at least 92% or its equivalent for Grade 12 – 1st semester.
  • Has a total household income of at most P150,000 per year.

What are the requirements needed?
  1. Parent’s or Guardian’s 2019 Income Tax Return / Certification of Non-Filing of Income / Certificate of Indigency
  2. Latest Grade 12 report card
  3. Birth Certificate
  4. 2×2 ID picture
  5. Sketch of home to the nearest SM Mall

What are the scholarship benefits?
Successful applicants are entitled to the following benefits:

Online Process Application Flow

1. Apply OnlineAccomplish the online application form and upload all the required documents to https://scholarship.sm-foundation.org
2. Processing and EvaluationSMFI will assess the submitted application forms and documents. The applicant will receive an email notification regarding the status of the application. (e.g. “Declined” or “For Exam”
3. Online ExamThe schedule of the online exam as well as the results of the exam will be sent via email.
4. Online InterviewExam passers will be interviewed via Google Meet by SM Foundation Schedule and the results of the interview will be sent via email.
5. Virtual Home VisitThe SM Foundation team will conduct random virtual home visits via Google Meet to those who passed the interview.
6. Confirmation of School and CourseSuccessful applicants will be notified via phone call or email to confirm their school and course
7. Orientation and Contract SigningAn email notification with the schedule of orientation and contract signing will be sent to the successful applicants
